Consumer prices in Fiji were flat year-on-year in December 2025, following a 1.4% decline in the previous month, ending the tenth consecutive month of deflation. Upward price pressures came from food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.1% vs -3.9% in November), marking the first increase in 10 months, alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.4% vs 3.8%), education (0.5% vs 0.5%), and miscellaneous goods and services (5.3% vs 5.7%). In contrast, downward price pressures were observed in transport (-5.3% vs -4.3%), housing (-2.2% vs -1.6%), clothing and footwear (-2.7% vs -3.9%), recreation and culture (-1.7% vs -1.6%), and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (-1.3% vs -0.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 1.2% in December, after a 0.5% increase in November, marking the fastest rise in 11 months.
