Mali Tasso Di Inflazione

The consumer prices in Mali fell 0.7% year-on-year in August 2023, the first deflation since December 2020 and following a 0.6% rise in the previous month. Main downward pressures came from the decline in prices for food & non-alcoholic beverages (-1.6% vs 0.2% in July) and transport (-2.1% vs 4%). In addition, inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5% vs 6.9%), clothing & footwear (0.7% vs 1.3%), miscellaneous goods & services (3.3% vs 4%), while costs stalled for restaurants and hotels (vs 2.3%). On a monthly basis, the CPI advanced 0.8%, accelerating from a 0.2% gain in July.
